In honor of Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month, we welcome Dr. Terri Woodard, an Associate Professor in the Department of Gynecological Oncology and Reproductive Medicine at MD Anderson Center. Dr. Woodard also holds a joint appointment in the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children's Hospital Pavilion for Women. She is a reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist with a specific interest in fertility preservation in family building for people diagnosed with cancer. In this episode, Dr. Woodard shares her journey to choosing reproductive medicine as a career and why she finds in vitro fertilization (IVF) so fascinating. She also discusses the current statistics regarding diagnosis and treatment of ovarian cancer and the importance of fertility preservation for patients undergoing cancer treatment.
